After a successful first edition of Young Researchers Conference on Law, “Hëna e Plotë” Bedër University and University of Tirana organized the second edition of the series, “Current Issues and Trends in International Law”.
The aim of this conference was to bring together students and young lawyers and give them the opportunity to present and discuss their ideas on important issues concerning the developing and exciting area of International Law, hence forming a platform to bring together law students from all over Europe and the World, with the sole purpose of creating an academic atmosphere, among the new generation of lawyers on the bases of harmony, mutual respect and cooperation in the area of international law, vital elements in achieving a more effective applicability.
More than 45 young scholars attended the conference from several countries such as Scotland, South Africa, Brazil, Russia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Turkey etc. All accepted papers were published in a conference proceeding CD.
During 2012, “Hëna e Plotë” Bedër University and the University of Tirana, held the First International Young Researchers Conference on Law, titled, “Human rights in the 21st century” which was held at “Hëna e Plotë” Bedër premises in Tirana, Albania on 18-19 May. During the conference, 60 young researchers from 12 different countries of the world coming from 17 universities presented around 55 presentations on human rights related issues and problems.
The objective of the conference was to bring together young researches from different countries and cultures and increase their interaction and participation in research on law with a focus on human rights while giving students the opportunity to exchange ideas and expertise.
The scientific committee awarded the “Best Paper Award” to Ms. Alice Margaria for her paper “Fatherhood And Work-Family Reconciliation: Comparing the EU Experience and the ECHR System”.
